Sustainable Practices
Responsible, Conscientious Processes
We employ responsible and conscientious processes in our operations everywhere possible. We fish only sustainable species, we hand trim our catch for less waste, and last year we signed a contract with the Iceland Carbon Fund, Kolvidur in which we pledged to work to offset any carbon emissions from our operations with the planting of trees.
Aligned Partners and Suppliers
We partner with vendors who are aligned with our values to operate with as little impact on the environment and oceans as possible. For example, Icelandair Cargo has international environmental certification in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard and our packaging partners are eco friendly.
Giving Back
We support a number of non-profit organizations who work to support a healthy world. Among them, The Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation works towards healthy ocean environments through engaging and inspiring education and ambitious beach cleanups. Additionally, The Salem Film Fest spreads awareness about the health of our oceans, planet, and inhabitants through award winning documentary films.
